Deeply Rooted Dance Theater resumes live in-person performances, Wednesday, August 25th at Millennium Park’s Pritzker Pavilion.  Presenting “A Deeply Rooted Evening for Chicago’s Healing: GOSHEN”, concept and music for the performance were created by Grammy Award winning producer, composer and gospel artist Donald Lawrence.  In addition to featuring dance styles that have been emblematic of the company for the past 25 years, work that reflects American and African American traditions and storytelling, GOSHEN will also feature gospel singer Le’Andria Johnson, Zeke Locke & The NuXperience and Tri-City Singers lead vocalists.

Invoking Biblical history and imagery to weave a tale encompassing “power, oppression and deliverance in a joyous contemporary setting”, GOSHEN was choreographed and will be directed by Deeply Rooted Creative/Artistic Director Kevin Iega Jeff. Choreography contributions were also made by Associate Artistic Director Gary Abbott, Artistic Director Nicole Clarke-Springer, Artistic Team member Joshua L. Ishmon and guest choreographer Tshediso Kabulu.

The performance begins at 7:30 CST.
