Food Adventures of a More Pressing Kind

Cream rises to the top and so do exceptional kids. GoodKids, MadCity had originally come together to help stem the relentless gun violence terrorizing their neighborhoods of North Lawndale, Austin, Englewood, South Shore and Woodlawn.   They have cohorts in Back of the Yards and Humboldt Park.  Adopting the philosophy, “if nobody else is going to help us, we’ll help ourselves”, the group has now thrown itself into delivering and providing food to people having a tough time getting it for themselves because of Covid.   They’re also helping peers by putting dollars into the hands of high school and college age kids who are either “out of a job or must work on the front line”.  Irrepressible and focused, their impact is being felt.  If you’d like to offer your support, the group can be contacted through social media, #GoodKidsMadCity.
